Celebration of the Birth Anniversary of the Founder President Shri Himanshu Neyogi on 8th July, 2023 at the school campus
Birth anniversary of Shri Himanshu Neogy, founder of The New Horizon High School, was celebrated on 8th July, 2023 in a befitting manner in the school campus. All students, teachers and other staff members attended school on that day. After garlanding ceremony, life and work of our beloved founder was narrated. This was followed by the Charlie Chaplin film shows - 'The Kid' for the morning section children and 'Modern Times' for the day section students. Light refreshment for students was arranged. The day was spent with the hope to reach new dimensions to fulfill the Founder's dream.
SATST Test 2022 prize winners
Students of The New Horizon High School appeared in the SATST Test 2022 with full enthusiasm. Among the competitors Aryan Kumar of Class IV, Aritra Mukherjee of Class VI, Debottam Seth of Class VI, Shibham Pal of Class VIII and Titiksha Baidya of Class XI won prizes and made us proud.
Rabindra Jayanti 2023
Rabindra Jayanti has been celebrated on the 12th of May, 2023 in the school campus. The programme started with an opening song. Then children of the morning section presented a small cultural programme. A short programme has been presented by the students of the day section too. Principal himself attended the function and spoke a few words on Rabindranath Tagore.
JOY–TRIP Organised by THE NEW HORIZON HIGH SCHOOL
sed an excurtion for students, teachers and non-teaching staff members of the school on 2nd February,2023. The team went to a resort at Bishnupur-South 24 pgs by luxury transport. Students got opportunity of playing in the ground of the resort. A few teachers also participated with them. Nice breakfast and sumptuous lunch was provided. All participants enjoyed whole-heartedly the entire programme.
'THESPIANS' at the premises of New Horizon High School
One-day theatre Workshop conducted on 14.01.2023 by 'THESPIANS' at the premises of New Horizon High School. Students of classes VIII, IX, and X participated with full interest and enthusiasm. The faculties of the organiser were happy to observe the interest of The New Horizon students. We also appreciated this type of workshop apart from regular conventional education. Hats off to 'THESPIANS'.

The Christmas Carnival has been celebrated on 22nd December 2022 at The New Horizon High School. The spirit of giving and sharing was inculcated among the tiny tots. The essence of Christmas came alive when the children of the morning section came and enjoyed the games and food along with the teachers. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of the children especially when they won prizes.

Seminar on Microscope for everyone by Dr. Rema Krishnaswami of Azim Premji University, Bangalore
Dr. Rema Krishnaswami of Azim Premji University, Bangalore, gave a seminar talk entitled "Microscope for everyone" alongwith handon demonstration on 9th December, 2022 for students of the school. It was a vibrant session where students as well as teachers enjoyed and enriched.
New Horizon students and teachers attended seminar entitled 'Cosmos' on 30th November, 2022 organized by Birla Industrial & Technological Museum (BITM), Kolkata. Dr. Debiprasad Duari, eminent Astronomer, was the speaker. Students visited BITM after the seminar. Great enthusiasm was created among students with the entire program.
Free Eye testing programme by Lions Club, Kolkata
Lions Club, Kolkata arranged a Free Eye Testing programme for the students of Class I to V on 6th September, 2022 at the school campus. The club members checked children's height and weight too. Teachers also got the chance to check their height and weight. All over it was beneficial for both the teachers and students.
Teacher's Day Celebration on 5th September, 2022 at The New Horizon High School premises
After two pandemic years, the Teacher's Day has been celebrated on the 5th of September, 2022, with a panorama of programmes put up by the students of both morning and day sections. The morning section children arranged class wise small cultural programmes for the teachers. The students of classes VI to XII also did the same. All the school members are enriched by an inspirational speech of the Principal towards the outgoing Class XII students. The programme ended with mirth and energy which was escaled with food packets provided by the school.
The New Horizon High School celebrates 75 years of Independence Day by hoisting the National Flag at the school premises with the chant 'Vandematram' followed by the National Anthem. A wall magazine has been published by the students both from morning and day sections. Afterwards they were taken to the Aurobindo Bhavan to pay homage to the Mother and Rishi Aurobindo on his 150th Birth Anniversary. Teachers from both morning and day sections including Principal joined the programme.
New Calligraphy Demonstration and Workshop By Mooladhvani Team, Pondicherry, Auroville
Mooladhvani Team, Pondicherry, Auroville has conducted a workshop on new calligraphy writing at Sri Aurobindo Bhavan, Kolkata on 5th August, 2022 to celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Aurobindo. The team imparted knowledge on the importance of good hand writing and taught some quotes of Sri Aurobindo. Students and teachers, both from morning and day sections including Principal of The New Horizon High School attended the programme enthusiastically. The students had the opportunity to learn calligraphy. They wrote some quotes and mantras of Sri Aurobindo in the new calligraphy writing style and enriched themselves.
Bonmahotsav utsab was first started by Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore in 1928 in the month of July by introducing two festivals viz. Briksharopon ( tree plantation) at Santiniketan and Halokarshan( ploughing) at Sriniketan. Many organisations, government and others observe this festival every year in this month. This year forest department of Government of West Bengal arranged the program at Eden Gardens on 14th July. The New Horizon High School joined the program among many other schools. Twenty-two students and four teachers including Principal participated and enriched themselves.
Respect to Sri Himanshu Kr Niyogi, the Founder President of The New Horizon High School on his Birth Anniversary. All the staff members and children were given food packets. The day was spent among works and new lessons with the hope to reach new dimensions to fulfill the founder's dream.
