The Inter School Quiz Debate and Extempore competition, organised by Indian Oil Corporation Limited under the guidence of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas(MoPNG) Venue Aban Mahal CLT Date 13.2.18 Participants Subham Banerjee Seal and Sattick Das of Class X of The New Horizon High School.
On 28th February 2018 National Science Day was celebrated in our school to pay respect and homage to Sir C.V. Raman (Nobel Laureate). Professor (retd) Subhashish Mukherjee of the Calcutta University delivered a lecture on "Development of Scientific idea and enhancement of knowledge -- past and present" for class VII -- XII students. The lecture was followed by some hand on experiments.
Great interests aroused within the students which was reflected by many questions put forth by the students during and after the lecture.
After that programme a drawing competition was held on two topics - (a) Living World, (b) Save the world in our school. The students of class VI and VII participated. Prizes announced for the deserving students.
Rabindra Jayanti was celebrated on the 18th of May, 2018 in the school campus. The programme was started with an opening song. Then children of the morning section presented a group dance and two children recited a short poem written by Rabindranath Tagore. A short programme was presented by the students of the day section too. Mr. Matilal -- our Principal Sir attended the function and spoke a few words on Rabindranath Tagore.
Maths Workshop held in the school campus on 29th June, 2018. To commemorate the birth anniversary of our Founder President Sri Himanshu Kumar Niyogi a Maths Workshop was held on 29th June, 2018. Class VII enjoyed the workshop thoroughly with Mrs Arundhati Mukherjee, Ex Principal. The New Horizon High School, who taught our students how to enjoy learning Mathematics and not be after afraid of it.
Inter House school competition held on 29th June, 2018. To commemorate the birth anniversary of our Founder President Sri Himanshu Kumar Niyogi an Inter House Competition was held on 29th June 2018. the students of class VI, VII, VIII took part in it. The students performed dance, recitation and ex-tempore with great enthusiasm and tried to win over for their respective houses. Results of the competition and final curtain call was on 8th July 2018 on the Birthday of the great soul. the winners were given certificates and prizes.
